Job Description

Senior Physiotherapist Acute Medical Care

Full-time Permanent Position

Bon Secours Hospital Cork has been a trusted provider of exceptional healthcare for over 100 years. We are now seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to join our Acute Medical Team on a full-time permanent basis.

This role offers the opportunity to manage a wide range of acute medical conditions across various specialties including Respiratory Neurology Elderly Care Cardiology and Rheumatology.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality inpatient physiotherapy care collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes. The role will also require covering respiratory weekends which includes CCU and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert physiotherapy care across the acute medical spectrum with a focus on respiratory neurology cardiology elderly care and rheumatology.
  • Manage complex patient cases ensuring the highest standard of clinical care and rehabilitation and discharge planning.
  • Provide respiratory cover at weekends which includes ICU and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Work closely with medical teams to create tailored treatment plans for patients.
  • Maintain a flexible and proactive approach to care responding to the changing needs of the department.

Candidate Requirements:

  • CORU membership is essential.
  • Extensive experience in acute medical care including in areas such as respiratory neurology elderly care cardiology and rheumatology
  • Experience in ICU
  • Experience in vestibular rehabilitation.
  • Post-graduate courses or CPD relevant to acute medical conditions is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to cover respiratory weekends as required.
  • Must be eligible to work within the EU
