Job Title:MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Shift Schedule:4:00 PM 12:30 AM 2nd Shift Tuesday through Saturday Sunday& Monday off. Full-time 40-hour work week with two permanent days offovertime as required.

(One Month Trainingwill begin on the projected start date

Monday Friday 8:00AM 4:30PM before transitioning into shift hours)

JOB SUMMARY:This position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of all airport buildings focusing on HVAC electrical and plumbing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

  1. Repair and maintain physical facilities of the terminal. Assist other departmental personnel in the maintenance of building equipment whenever necessary.
  2. Repair or replace commercial plumbing and electrical fixtures.
  3. Sheetrock repair paint.
  4. Clean and restore airport facilities as required or specified.
  5. Snow removal operations and snow removal equipment maintenance.
  6. Installation and repair of ceiling grid systems.
  7. Repair and or rekey re-pin commercial locksets.
  8. Performs all other duties as assigned and directed.
  9. Administer and adhere to all Authority policies and guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:The following generally describes the knowledge skills and abilities required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time to successfully perform the assigned duties.

  1. Knowledge of practices tools and materials used in maintenance of mechanical electrical and sanitary equipment.
  2. Knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  3. Knowledge and ability to use power and hand tools.
  4. Basic computer skills.
  5. Good organizational skills.
  6. Excellent communication skills.
  7. Detail Oriented.
  8. Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  9. Ability to read and understand blueprints.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent
  2. Trade school or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  1. General building maintenance building trades or HVAC preferred.
  2. One year of experience as a journeyman in plumbing electrical or HVAC preferred.
  3. Locksmith experience preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Possess a valid drivers license and must meet NAA driving record requirements.
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge as may be required by assigned job duties and responsibilities.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:Motor vehicles including snow removal equipment (snowplow and sand spreader) forklift 5K: aerial work platforms extensive use of hand tools power sewer snake air compressors field radio and hand radio.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:Persons with disabilities may be able to perform the essential duties of this class with reasonable accommodation. The employee is required to bend stoop squat push pull stand and walk extensively. The employee must be able to climb ladders with tools reach overhead lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. work in awkward positions read blueprints and computer printouts. Employees must demonstrate the ability to perform these essential functions during their physical examinations.

WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS:Exposure to refrigerants natural gas high noise levels high speed equipment high voltage acids and alkalis extensive hours during snow removal stripping penetrating lubricants and other aerosol/liquid chemicals compressed air.

DRIVING RECORD REQUIREMENTS: All drivers must be at least 21years of age licensed for at least 3years have the type of license required by their state for the vehicles operated and meet the following driving record standards.

Committing a Felony with a Motor Vehicle

DWI/DUI

Drug Offense

Eluding a Police Officer

Foreign citizens with no historical driving record available to us

Hit Run / Leaving the Scene of an accident

Lending an Operators License or Registration to Another

Open Container Violation

Passing a Stopped School Bus

Racing or Speed Contest Violation

Reckless Driving

Speeding 25 mph or more above speed limit

Suspended License History Drivers who have had 3 or more license suspensions as a result of moving violations

Temporary Operators Permit

Two or more at fault accident convictions

Vehicle Manslaughter/Homicide

Three or more moving violations within the past 12 months

Note: Texting or cell phone violations are considered moving violations because they increase the chance of being in an accident.
