As part of SAPs Application AI organization youll lead a team at the forefront of enterprise AI innovation. Youll shape how SAPs customers plan build and visualize with generative AIacross Sales Marketing Finance HR and beyond. By joining Experience Generation youll have the opportunity to lead talented engineers collaborate with researchers and product visionaries and deliver technologies that redefine how businesses operate.
What Youll Do
As an Engineering Manager you will lead a team of talented engineers building the next generation of SAPs generative-AI services. Youll provide technical and people leadership ensuring our projects deliver both innovation and enterprise reliability. Working closely with product managers researchers and partner teams across SAP youll shape roadmaps remove execution barriers and build a high-performing engineering culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mentor and grow a cross-functional team of engineers (junior to senior) delivering production-grade AI workflows.
Drive technical execution for multi-agent orchestration (LangGraph) across DRP Experience Builder and Visual Services.
Partner with product leadership to define roadmaps that balance innovation with enterprise-grade scalability governance and security.
Ensure engineering excellence through code reviews architectural oversight and best practices in testing deployment and monitoring.
Foster a culture of collaboration continuous learning and experimentation within the team.
Coordinate with SAP AI platform teams (e.g. GenAI Hub BTP HANA Cloud) to align on shared infrastructure and governance standards.
Translate cutting-edge research (e.g. LLMs RAG diffusion multimodal) into scalable trusted enterprise solutions.
Manage delivery timelines resource allocation and stakeholder communication.
What You Bring:
8 years of professional experience in software or machine learning engineering including at least 2 years in engineering management or technical leadership roles.
Strong technical background in ML/AI (LLMs embeddings multimodal generation or agentic systems).
Proficiency in Python or another language such as Go or TypeScript and understanding of distributed systems is highly desirable.
Experience leading teams working with cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes AWS/Azure) data platforms (Postgres Cassandra vector databases) and modern frontend frameworks (React/).
Proven ability to deliver production AI systems at scale with attention to quality reliability and security.
Demonstrated success in mentoring engineers fostering team growth and creating an inclusive high-performance culture.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience working in cross-functional global teams.
