Purpose of the Role
- Execute withholding tax (WHT) compliance program and controls for assigned entities to provide assurance that withholding tax is accurately accounted for and reported in relation to business activities and SAP programming;
- Support local finance and key stakeholders with queries having withholding tax implications;
- Drive and support the withholding tax reporting standardization and simplification projects on a global scale from start to end.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure end-to-end WHT compliance with full ownership including calculation of periodic WHT payments preparation / review of WHT returns and other WHT related reports for European countries
- Reconciliation of withholding tax balance sheet accounts - open item management - advise posting corrections
- Drive and support WHT process standardization projects
- Drive and support WHT reporting simplification projects
- Actively participate in projects
- Drive continuous improvement challenge status quo
- Participate in month-end closing procedure
- Support the local businesses and other finance departments in WHT related matters
- Interact with external service providers
- Advise on WHT treatment
- Contact Tax Authorities
- Follow-up and implement legal changes
- Ensure internal and external control processes
- Actively participate in internal/external WHT audits
- Meet all reporting deadlines
- Ad-hoc and complex issue resolution
- Provide back-up for other team members
- Provide possible support for IDT Compliance matters within the team if/when necessary.
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications
- Fluent English
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Solid knowledge of European WHT and corresponding filing requirements
- Good stakeholder management
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Strong Excel and data analytics skill set
- SAP or equivalent ERP hands on knowledge
- Familiar with working in a complex matrix and international environment
- Attention to detail and administrative tasks
- Excellent issue resolution skills and continuous improvement mindset
- Proactive working style
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Positive self-starter willing to learn new skills and understand the business
- Able and committed to meet deadlines and quality requirements
- Ability to work effectively both as an individual and as a team member
- Graduate in Commerce Finance or similar;
- Fluent English is a must and knowledge of other languages is advantage.
