Full time driver needed to run local routes.
Job Summary
In search of a driver interested to run local routes.
A truck drivers responsibility includes transporting printed materials supplies rolls of paper etc. from Adams MultiMedia and to other destinations in our region of operation.
Job Functions
The successful candidate must be flexible a self-starter attentive to details diplomatic able to provide direction and able to multitask.
Essential Functions
- Perform job duties and conduct self in accordance with company core values
- Must always operate any vehicle in a safe manner
- Responsible for loading and unloading of the vehicle
- Pick up and deliver goods as required
- Check fuel and oil levels in trucks before loading
- Inspect trucks to ensure working conditions of brakes lights wipers windshield fire extinguisher flares and other safety equipment in the truck by filling out a Vehicle Inspection Report
- Adjust mirrors on both sides of the truck to ensure clear visibility from the drivers seat
- Reporting maintenance concerns of truck to your supervisor
- Ensure that cargo is well secured
- Maintain record of goods and freight loaded and unloaded by filling out delivery slips
- Report any equipment in the truck inoperable or missing
- Report any improper loading of cargo
- Inspect freight and vehicle for compliance with DOT Regulations
- At the end of days delivery handover records of deliveries receipts payments and any mechanical problems
- Be able to use a GPS to locate multiple destinations in our region of operations
- Sometimes truck drivers are to collect payments from customers while delivering their jobs
- Required to take trucks or vans in for service or repairs as scheduled
- If a driver must wait for a job to be completed they are expected to report to an on-duty supervisor to determine if they can help out in any department.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Competent driving skills
- Able to produce clean driving record
- Consistently pass drug screening and drivers medical examination
- Should be able to read and speak English
- Knowledge of vehicle and all its parts
- Basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor repairs
- Skill to maneuver large vehicles on highways and traffic routes
- Knowledge and understanding of GPS
- Knowledge of state transport regulations
- Commercial driver should be 21 years of age
- Valid drivers license for operating vehicles less than 25999 lbs. gross vehicle weight rating
Education
High school education or GED.
