Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal with 510 years of experience in both commercial and residential real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background gained from working in a law firm or title insurance company and will be comfortable handling all aspects of transactional work. This is a full-time on-site position based in New York City offering the opportunity to work in a collaborative and professional environment with an outstanding compensation package.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in all stages of commercial and residential real estate transactions from contract to closing.
- Review draft and prepare closing documents contracts leases financing documents and title commitments.
- Conduct title and survey reviews identify issues and coordinate resolution with attorneys clients and title companies.
- Manage due diligence processes including preparation and organization of checklists critical dates and closing binders.
- Coordinate and facilitate closings ensuring accuracy of all documentation and compliance with deadlines.
- Maintain communication with clients lenders brokers and other stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
- Prepare and file UCC financing statements and related documents.
- Conduct legal research related to real estate law zoning and property matters as needed.
- Manage and maintain case files ensuring organization and timely updates.
Qualifications
- 510 years of experience in real estate transactional work (commercial and residential).
- Background from a law firm or title insurance company required.
- Strong understanding of New York real estate laws regulations and practices.
- Proficiency in title and survey review due diligence and closing procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized detail-oriented and able to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Flexible professional and a strong team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with real estate management software a plus.
