At the Biodiversity Education Center everything begins with customer experience. As a BEC Educator youll welcome and support visitors answer questions with care and ensure each interaction is engaging and memorable. Youll have the unique opportunity to design and deliver creative curriculum that inspires curiosity from classroom-style lessons indoors to hands-on exploration outdoors. Day to day youll assist with programs and special events guide field trips and lead interactive activities that bring nature to life for all ages. Youll also support smooth operationspreparing materials sharing program updates and collaborating with the team. If youre passionate about people nature and creating experiences that spark conservation this role is for you.

Schedule Commitment
This part-time year-round role requires a commitment of 1520 hours per week. While the schedule offers some flexibility the position requires availability to meet teams current needs including:
  • Regular shifts on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Saturday
  • Occasional field trips on Thursday and Friday
  • Coverage that may include days evenings weekends and holidays

Pay Plan
This opportunity is non-exempt and on Pay Grade #5. The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade. Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.

$19.17
  • Min:$19.17
  • Mid:$23.48
  • Max:$27.79

Eligibility

Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 18 Years of age or older
  • Prior experience is preferred but not required
  • CPR/First-Aid/AED certification (available through staff training upon hire)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of nature and environmental topics
  • Customer service and office equipment experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and engage visitors

We offer such a wide variety of services to the community - greatly expanding the purview of traditional parks and January 2023 we became Coppell Community Experiences. The name change and rebranding reflects our desire to reimagine the way we serve the Coppell community and continue to meet both current needs and demands of the future. Several industries are now joined together working toward the same goal: to provide exceptional experiences to the Coppell community.
