Job Description

Work Place Flexibility: Onsite

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

This position will work in Entergys Advanced Metering Ops Center (AMOC). The AMOCs objective is to ensure 1) the timely accurate and complete collection of energy measurement data and 2) the operational integrity of remote meter commands. Daily work will entail analyzing performance data for complex automated and integrated technology from a control center environment. The position will support analysts and engineers to drive secure meter connectivity optimal meter configuration accurate metrology performance and data collection operations. The position will investigate process and technology exceptionssome of which must be resolved in a same-day timeline. To drive continuous improvement and optimization of customer outcomes the position will also take part in automation initiatives.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the AMOC analysts and engineers in daily responsibilities listed below
  • Timely resolution of issues that impact electric service to customersi.e. troubleshooting any failure of remote connect/disconnect of advanced meters and troubleshooting of integrated solution capabilities
  • Identification and resolution of problems preventing the timely accurate and complete delivery of energy usage data from Entergys advanced meters
  • Resolution of exceptions encountered during configuration changes to advanced metersi.e. meter metrology and firmware changes
  • Identification of problems with core IT systems and networks; engaging the appropriate teams to collaborate on troubleshooting and resolution
  • Performing network analysis to support investments in the enhancement of the field mesh network
  • Following established and approved procedures; adhering to standard Service Management (problem incident and knowledge management) processes
  • Development of automated solutions to reduce costs and improve outcomes; monitoring of solution performance to ensure adequate controls for quality assurance
  • Development of reports and dashboards to understand performance and drive continuous improvement; conducting modeling forecasting and variance analysis to identify trends and operational efficiencies
  • Testing new processes and technology to ensure seamless business operations during the execution of major projects software releases vendor product upgrades etc. Participating in change management planning and execution activities in support of these initiatives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

  • Pursuing a degree focused on science engineering math information systems business economics statistics information technology or similar at an accredited College or University
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)

Minimum experience/skills required of the position

  • Computer skills- must be familiar with Windows environment and Microsoft toolkit (Word Excel PowerPoint)
  • Must have good communication skills

Preferred knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Power BI SQL and Python skills preferred
