Job Title: SubstituteTeacher

Wage/Hour Status:Non-Exempt

Pay Group:Contract Hourly

Primary Purpose:Preserve the normal routine of the classroom and follow the plans left by the teacher of record.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Experience:

High school diploma from an accredited high school or hold GED.

Fifteen credit hours from an accredited college or university preferred.

Elementary or Secondary teaching certification in a foundation subject area highly preferred.

Teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Policy Reports and Law:

5. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.

6. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily punctual attendance at location of work assignment.

7. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned jobduties.

8. Execute duties in a professional ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247 Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
