Description

Under the general direction of the Director of Human & Organizational Development performs a variety of tasks in support of the Librarys Human Resources (HR) functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handles internal and external requests for HR-related information by retrieving verifying and providing accurate information in accordance with company policies and confidentiality standards. This includes responding to inquiries related to employment benefits and HR procedures while ensuring timely and professional communication. Escalates complex issues to appropriate HR staff as needed.
  • Organizes updates and securely maintains employee personnel and HR files in both physical and digital formats. Ensures all records are accurate complete and compliant with company policies and legal requirements. Maintains confidentiality and supports audits or internal reviews as needed.
  • Serves as back up support to the HR department for assistance with payroll processing staffing functions and new employee orientation as needed.
  • Coordinates with external vendors and service providers to support HR-related services. Reviews verifies and processes invoices for accuracy. Ensures timely submission for payment and maintain accurate records of transactions in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks to support the HR departments daily operations. Duties include scheduling meetings preparing correspondence maintaining office supplies and assisting with data entry and reporting. Ensures the HR office runs efficiently and professionally while providing excellent internal customer service.
  • Coordinates activities related to internal staff events milestone celebrations and recognition programs. Collaborate with HR team and vendors to manage logistics communications and materials.
  • Handles sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • The job requires an Associates degree in Business Administration or related field. Alternative to traditional educational attainment would be four or more years in positions of proven progressive responsibility.
  • One to two years of administrative or Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Computer skills necessary to effectively utilize Microsoft Office 365 software including OneDrive SharePoint Forms and other applications.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and employee right to privacy issues.
  • Ability to perform work under general supervision in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact with a wide variety of Library staff and the public. The incumbent is also required to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms.
  • Visual acuity necessary to view a computer screen and written materials.
  • Hearing ability to answer telephone for general staff and public inquiries.
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment including computer fax scanner and copy machine.
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers and details.
  • Ability to travel between work locations and related places of business as needed.

Additional Information

  • This is a part-time 24 hr/wk position. The schedule is flexible between 8am-5pm Monday-Friday.
  • The pay range is $22-29/hr. Starting pay rate is negotiable within this range based on a candidates experience and credentials.
  • While this position is currently assigned to the above location KDL reserves the right to requireemployees to be available for assignments at any KDL location.
