Distribution Team Leader (Fixed Term Maternity leave cover) Auckland

Were looking for a proactive and organised Distribution Team Leader to join our Auckland operations team on a fixed-term basis (maternity leave cover) ending in the middle of August 2026. Youll be responsible for managing sorter performance overseeing sorting machine operations and supporting a team of frontline staff to ensure smooth safe and efficient distribution.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Distribution Team Leader youll play a key role in the daily coordination of mail processing operations. Youll work closely with the Operations Supervisor Area Manager and other team leaders to lead your team maintain machine performance and ensure quality targets are met.

This is a hands-on leadership role and your responsibilities will include:

• Allocating and overseeing sorter staffing and productivity

• Training and coaching staff on machine processes and sorting standards

• Monitoring performance targets and KPIs

• Supporting continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts

• Managing machine operations maintenance calls and sorting accuracy

• Leading toolbox meetings and promoting H&S compliance

• Completing shift reports error analysis and admin tasks as required

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

Youll be a great fit if you:

• Have experience leading or coordinating teams in an operational environment

• Understand sorting or distribution processes (mail courier logistics etc.)

• Communicate clearly and motivate people to do their best work

• Are confident with systems reporting and handling operational admin

• Are safety-focused and organised in how you manage time and priorities

• Lead by example with a positive team-first attitude
