Pendleton Cottage a division of the Oregon Health Authorityhas a fantastic opportunity for a MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST 1 to join an excellent teamworking to help people recover from their illness and return to their lives in the community.
What you will do!
The Mental Health Therapist 1 under the supervision of professional staff participates in the implementation of individual treatment plans that supports the Recovery Model in the State Delivered Secure Residential Treatment Facility serving high risk/high profile individuals currently residing at Pendleton Cottage. Duties include group therapies socialization skills facilitating daily program schedule pass medications as well as responsibility for maintaining the safety and security of residents and staff.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of experience working with mentally behaviorally or physically impaired clients; OR
An Associates or Bachelors degree in social science (such as social work human services psychology child development gerontology health or health education) may be substituted for 6 months of the required experience.
Desired Attributes:
Experience working in the mental health field.
Strong leadership skills
Experience in milieu management
Ability to manage stressful situations.
Possess basic computer skills and be willing to learn new technologies as they are introduced into the workplace.
Certified Medication Aid (CMA)
Certified Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA)
Additional Requirements of the MHT1 position:
If you are offered employment the offer will be contingent upon the outcome of an abuse check criminal records check and driving records check and the information shall be shared with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Office of Human Resources (OHR). Any criminal or founded abuse history will be reviewed and could result in the withdrawal of the offer or termination of employment.
Candidates who are offered employment at the Pendleton Cottage must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test.
Must possess a valid Oregon drivers license. Candidates for MHT1 will be required to pass a driver training course to be approved to drive a state vehicle.
Must possess QMHA certification or willing to obtain within the first month of employment. (Facility will assist)
Must possess CPR and First Aid Certifications or willing to obtain within the first month of employment. (Facility will assist)

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%. Review the Classification and Compensation page for more details on the classification.
