As a Manager of Startup Solutions Architecture based in the Netherlands you will lead a team of Solutions Architects who work directly with startup customers across Europe-North to help them leverage cloud technology effectively. You will develop technical talent while engaging with startups during their critical growth phases coaching your team to understand business needs and provide guidance on creating value through technology.

In this role you will lead and develop talented Solutions Architects helping them connect technology solutions to real business outcomes. You will guide your team in creating technical architectures for startup use cases while building their expertise in specific industries and technologies. You will collaborate with other AWS teams including account management service teams and marketing to deliver comprehensive support to customers.

You will be part of a leadership team responsible for driving AWS adoption and delivering value to startup customers across the Europe-North region.

Key job responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development - Lead and develop a team of Solutions Architects coaching them to become trusted technical advisors for startup customers

Customer Strategy & Engagement - Partner with account management teams to formulate customer-focused strategies that drive AWS adoption within the startup ecosystem ensuring your team operates as trusted advisors working backwards from customer priorities

Technical Guidance & Architecture - Guide your team to work directly with startup customers on accelerating their projects recommending best-practice architectures aligned with rapid growth needs and long-term business outcomes

Thought Leadership - Drive the creation of whitepapers reference architectures and startup-focused technical content while leading evangelism efforts through workshops meetups and public speaking engagements

Voice of Customer & Product Influence - Capture startup customer insights and feedback to influence AWS service roadmaps acting as a conduit between customers and service teams

Cross-functional Collaboration - Partner effectively with AWS teams including account management service teams and marketing to align goals and maximize long-term customer value


A day in the life
Your work varies daily around customer needs. You might coach a Solutions Architect on a scaling challenge then join a customer call supporting technical discussions with a startups CTO about cloud migration.

Your afternoons could include planning sessions with account teams reviewing technical content your team creates or interviewing candidates. You regularly connect with VCs or attend local meetups where your team presents.

You balance technical leadership with people management helping your team stay updated on AWS services while building expertise in startup challenges like rapid scaling and cost optimization.

The Startup Solutions Architecture team is dedicated to helping the worlds most innovative companies scale on AWS. We understand that startups have unique needs - from rapid prototyping and cost optimization to explosive growth. Our team combines deep technical expertise with startup business understanding to provide tailored guidance to accelerate our customers success.


- Experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals ideally in customer facing roles
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure AWS GCP OCI etc.
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
- Experience with enterprise IT application work that includes software development or DevOps engineering
- Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing

- Experience architecting migrating transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
