Job Description

Job Summary:

The Director of Information Technology will develop plan and implement an information technology (IT) strategy that meets the companys business needs delivers optimal return on investment and maintains utmost security. The IT Director is responsible for keeping existing and necessary company technology and communications systems operational keeping organizational data safe secure and available and for helping the company upgrade existing and implement new technology as appropriate.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises information technology professionals responsible for developing and maintaining technology infrastructure or services while managing the daily activities of an information technology work group.

Schedules organizes and assigns projects to members of the IT team.

Oversees projects and assignments within the IT department.

Leads efficient operation of the team so that prompt modernization and upgrades of IT are performed as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides technical expertise and leadership in the development implementation and evaluation of technology systems and solutions.

Collaborates with members of the executive team to identify ways IT can assist the company in achieving business and financial goals.

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the IT department ensuring that all IT systems and infrastructure including hardware software networks and applications are functioning reliably and securely.

Identifies new IT developments and technologies; anticipates resulting organizational modifications.

Establishes a multi-year vision and strategic plan optimizing resource allocations and ensuring the organization accomplishes annual goals and strategic initiatives.

Develops annual and multi-year work plans and strategies ensures resources are available to achieve work plans resolves complex business issues and establishes management practices and processes that ensure the accomplishment of performance standards

Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.

Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess security of systems operating costs productivity levels upgrade requirements and other metrics and needs.

Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.

Facilitates and manages the development modification and operation of security protocols including intrusion detection and prevention systems to protect the organizations information from breach or loss.

Conducts periodic audits and due diligence checks of security protocols evaluating systems for vulnerabilities.

Ensures compliance with government regulations that apply to systems operations.

Manages relationships with IT vendors negotiating contracts and ensuring that vendors provide the necessary support and services.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Through understanding of IT and practical applications to support the companys goals.

Skill in developing and implementing technology plans and evaluating and problem-solving full-service information technology networks and telecommunication systems.

Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Proficient or able to gain proficiency with a broad array of security software applications and tools.

Excellent ability to conceptualize long-term business goals and develop orderly processes to accomplish those goals

Excellent analytical and management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience with ERP migrations / implementations.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field required; masters degree or MBA preferred.

Extensive experience managing an IT department.

Knowledge of technology applications pertinent to operation and business management systems requirements including information technology and telecommunication systems.

Relevant IT certifications (CISSP CITM ITIL CISM CompTIA Security) preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations.

Salary Range: $133000 to $180000
