Special Education Teacher Self-Contained (K2)
Were looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained K2 classroom in an Illinois school district. This full-time position offers an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting young learners as they build academic behavioral and social-emotional skills in a structured and nurturing environment.
In this role youll work with a manageable caseload of 14 students supported by a classroom paraprofessional who assists with daily routines small-group instruction and behavioral support. You will design and deliver individualized lessons aligned with IEP goals incorporating evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies to meet each students unique needs.
Collaboration is keyyoull partner closely with related service providers general education staff and families to ensure students receive consistent well-rounded support. The ideal candidate will be organized patient and passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Requirements
- At least a bachelors degree in Special Education.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
- Commitment to fostering social-emotional growth and academic achievement.
- Experience teaching students with diverse learning and behavioral needs is preferred.
