Job Summary

Junior Accountant

Location:Johannesburg

Salary Type: Annual

Currency: Rand (R)

Job Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Maintenance of accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards.
Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes.
Conduct audits and prepare schedules for audits.
Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
Provide assistance in managing budgetary controls.
Collaborate with the finance team to improve accounting processes.

Essential Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.

Desired Experience

Experience with accounting software packages (e.g. QuickBooks Sage).
Familiarity with tax regulations in South Africa.
Experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
