Front of House Manager

Location: Mpumalanga

Number of Openings: 1

Salary: Competitive annual salary (in Rand - R)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all front-of-house operations to ensure a seamless experience for guests.
  • Manage staff scheduling training and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of service.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely service delivery and resolution of any guest issues.
  • Maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere to enhance guest satisfaction and retention.
  • Monitor and manage the budget for front-of-house operations optimizing costs while ensuring quality service.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of operations.
  • Handle guest inquiries complaints and feedback ensuring prompt resolution to maintain a positive guest experience.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate expectations and updates about events or operational changes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special events promotions and activities designed to attract and engage guests.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of hospitality operations and front-of-house best practices.
  • Proficient in using reservation and POS systems.

Desired Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry.
  • Proven track record of managing front-of-house operations in a high-volume establishment.
  • Experience in staff training and development with knowledge of best practices in customer service.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
