An exciting new opportunity for aProject Control Supervisorwithin the King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD)has just arrived!This is a newpositionand you will partner with two peerstohelp lead the Process Control workgroupat the treatment plants.
About the Role:This role willhelpthe entire Process Control workgroup butwill have a primary focuson the Brightwater treatment plant the Carnation treatment plant as well as the conveyance pump stations on the east side of Lake Washington. The role will have supervisory responsibilities fortechnicalstaff involved in the engineering and analysis of the process control function for wastewater treatment plants.The position willinterface withindividual contributors up to members of the division leadership teamand will playan important rolein influencingthestrategy and the futurecapital developmentinvestmentsof our utility.
Beyond the core wastewaterprocess controlwork this leader will helpdirect ouron-site compliance efforts with environmental regulationsand help build outa workforceand systemsto support these compliance requirements (e.g. Industrial Stormwater Hazardous Waste Underground Storage Tanks Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know etc.)

Job Duties
What You Will Be Doing:
- Perform the full scope of supervisory responsibilities for theassignedprocess controlstaff
- Evaluate plant performance and laboratory data and provide or approve directives for process control adjustments
- Review and approve regulatory and technical reports
- Partner with regulatoryagenciesand diligently work toensure compliance withall permitslawsand regulations
- Provide overall vision for the process control function and motivate employees
- Approve purchasing budgeting designupgradesand major process control changes
- Review and approve laboratory testing and sampling techniques and procedures including Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs (QA/QC)
- Review improve and create workprocessesand procedures to help improve efficiency anddocumentation
Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills
Qualifications You Bring:
- Bachelors degree or higher in an engineering field or equivalent combination of education and experience in a physical science engineering field and/or wastewater ranging from certificate programs through doctorate degrees and post graduate work
- Proven ability to communicate / present technical information to non-technical audiences to enable data-driven business decisions
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders includingoperations & maintenance procurement engineering human resourcessenior leadership and thegeneral public
- Directprocess control work experiencein a manufacturing setting (e.g. wastewater treatment plant drinking water plantetc.)
- Skill in written communication techniques and principles to be measured through a detailed review ofsubmittedmaterials (e.g. cover letter resume and answers to supplemental questions)
Manages Complexity: Making sense of complex high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems

Required Licenses:
- WastewaterTreatment Operators Group IV or ability to secure within1 year

- Work Location:BrightwaterTreatment Plant - 22505 WA-9 Woodinville WA 98072
- Work Schedule:This full-time position works a 40-hour work week Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends to meet business needs. Aflex schedule (e.g. 9/80) is available once the person is fully onboarded after probation into the role. This position is not covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible. The position requires the ability to work during adverse and inclement weather conditions.
