The purpose of this role is to provide technical co-design and expert technical knowledge to deliver solution architecture that meets business needs.

NZTA Waka Kotahi is embarking on a new journey for the organisation and we require Senior Solution Architects across all disciplines to grow with us as an organisation. We are passionate about the outcomes we deliver.

Appointment base salary is from $131659 to $160916 depending on relevant knowledge and experience.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

Solid experience in designing cloud data solutions that comply with New Zealand government mandates and adhere to industry best practices and with a specialization in complex data projects.
Proficiency in Azure data services and Microsoft analytics solutions is essential.
In-depth knowledge of Lakehouse Medallion architecture and its application in modern data engineering and data management.
Proficient in contemporary data engineering and data management techniques. solid experience in design of complex technology solutions and producing and presenting solution architecture designs and technical documentation to architecture governance bodies.
Solid experience interpreting business needs and translating these into practical designs leading influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders
Solid experience in the use of multiple modern technology methodologies and frameworks e.g. TOGAF
Experience with modelling solutions in Archimate.
Solid experience in modern toolsets and approaches e.g. Agile collaboration automation security cloud
Solid Architecture technology skillsets experience and knowledge required include: Azure Datalake platform Azure Data Engineering Databricks MS Power Platforms and PurView
Solid experience in engineering data ETL services.
Understanding of New Zealand Government Security standards (NZISM) and a secure by design methodology.

You will demonstrate knowledge of or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
