Who are we looking for
GHD North America is recruiting a Lead Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)to spearhead storage growth in theU.S.andCanada.
You bring deep technical command ofutilityscale standaloneandhybrid (wind/solar BESS)assets and thrive as asellerdoer. You will coordinate execution withWindandTransmission and Distributionleads and engagein a variety of delivery models on behalf of clients.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of duties and will see you involved in:
- Own the regionalBESS strategy and gotomarket; prioritize roles asOwners Engineer Independent Engineerandtechnical due diligenceacross development and financing stages.
- Lead programs spanningscreening/feasibilitytechnoeconomic sizing and optimizationof microgrids/hybrids involving battery systems and interface with interconnection and power system studies
- Build client relationships withdevelopers utilities/ISOs IPPs and financiers; shapecapture plans and proposalswith Relationship Managers and Pursuit Leaders.
- Develop and mentor acrossregional team; implementstandardized tools/playbooksand leverageGHD Global Collaboration Centres toscale design and studies.
What you bring to the team:
- 1015 years in power systems or energy infrastructure with at least 5 years in utility-scale BESS or hybrid renewables storage projects.
Proven experience inOwners/Independent Engineer roles interconnection studies and EMS/SCADA integration. Familiarity withLi-ion BESS safety and fire protection standards (e.g. NFPA 855)required. - Demonstrablepipeline development and captureperformance inhighgrowth storagemarkets; fluency inhybrid dispatchandancillary servicesvaluestacks.
The successful candidate will also have to meet the following requirements:

- Ability to leadmultidisciplinary teamsacross geographies; excellentcommunicationproposal leadershipandclient stewardship.
