Assists with the development and implementation of assigned sport program(s) strength and conditioning related activities and provides expert knowledge and instruction for a competitive intercollegiate athletics program in support of fielding a competitive team fostering a positive student-athlete experience and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Serves as a point of contact and liaison to coaching staff medical professionals and student-athletes to monitor physical health improve athletic abilities and provide information and coaching

• Assists in in the development and monitoring of individual and team weight training and conditioning programs

• Enters and maintains computerized data and tracking of individual and team student-athlete workouts

• Assists with the instruction and execution of conditioning simulations and exercises for a designated athletic team provides information and consults with student-athletes regarding weight lifting and conditioning techniques and safety

Full-Time: 100 % Limited 12-month ongoing appointment one vacancy

UW Standard Job Responsibilities:

• Assists in in the development and monitoring of individual and team weight training and conditioning programs.
• Enters and maintains computerized data and tracking of individual and team student-athlete workouts.
• Assists with the instruction and execution of conditioning simulations and exercises for a designated athletic team provides information and consults with student-athletes regarding weightlifting and conditioning techniques and safety.
• Serves as a point of contact and liaison to coaching staff medical professionals and student-athletes to monitor physical health improve athletic abilities and provide information and coaching.

Additional duties specific to the position:

• Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the athletic program; to include adhering to and enforcing all departmental policies and procedures as well as rules and regulations of the University the governing sport conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
• Support the Head Coach and promote the philosophy and objectives of the athletic program; to include adhering to and enforcing all policies and procedures outlined in the departmental handbook as well as rules and regulations of the University the governing sport conference and the NCAA.
• Adhere to and follow all rules and guidelines of the NCAA and the Universitys governing conference(s).

Other Duties:

• Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to provide strength and conditioning programming to a diverse population of student-athletes.

• Ability to travel overnight work nights weekends and as needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Ability to provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of staff and student-athletes.
• Ability to resolve problems and answer questions related to strength and conditioning program.
• Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities.
• Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and written.
• Ability to drive a vehicle for the purpose of conducting university business and meet the criteria for operation of state-owned-vehicles Policy 615

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
• A minimum of two years experience planning and leading strength and conditioning activity
• National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or other nationally recognized certification
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certified
• Valid drivers license

This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Masters degree from an accredited institution
• Experience planning and leading collegiate strength and conditioning activity
• Experience working with NCAA rules and regulations

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this position is: $40000 - $44000 annually.
