Day - 8 Hour (United States of America)Position Summary:
Directs and delegates patient care assignments to health team via the Telemetry Supervisor based on patient care needs. Collaborates with CNO nursing directors and nursing supervisors to insure appropriate resources to internal/external customers. Functions as system Stroke Program Coordinator. The Stroke Program Coordinator works with the Stroke Quality Management Specialist and is fundamental to the development implementation and evaluation of the Stroke Program directed towards the provision of quality services for patients who are experiencing stroke from a multidisciplinary perspective throughout the continuum of care. Coordinator is highly active in community education efforts on stroke awareness. Exhibits an ongoing commitment to quality. Serves as advocate on behalf of staff and patients/families. Serves as a leader and mentor for staff. Works in establishing collegial relations with physicians. Responsible for carrying out the mission vision values and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.
II. Qualifications:
A. Education & Training:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
B. Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience.
C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Current RN licensure by the Georgia State Board of Nursing. Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. Current AHA ACLS/ARC ALS certification or obtained within nine (9) months. Must complete and maintain required stroke education/training as mandated in the HHC Primary Stroke Center / Acute Stroke Ready Designation policy.
D. Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care equipment. Must be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves gown mask etc. Must be able to utilize standard office equipment. Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook Midas etc.). Proficiency in Intranet/Internet use. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent oral/written communication skills. Skilled in conflict resolution critical thinking task management and appropriate prioritization/delegation. Provides oversight of evaluations to ensure they are turned in timely. Effective budget development and management. Able to coordinate plan and conducts effective meetings.
