This position is over 50% direct leadership working hands on with the team.
What Youll Do & The Impact Youll Make:
As our Nutrition Services Supervisor you will be the driving force behind our departments success ensuring that our food service operations run seamlessly and expertly. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Operational Leadership:Strategically plan organize and direct the day-to-day operations of the Nutrition Services department ensuring strict compliance with all current Federal State and Local standards guidelines and regulations.
- Team Management & Development:Lead mentor and manage a dedicated team including storeroom clerks and cooks. This involves recruiting hiring performance management assigning duties and fostering professional growth within a supportive environment.
- Quality & Safety Assurance:Champion best practices in food safety and infection control working closely with staff to maintain a safe sanitary and impeccably organized storage and food preparation facility.
- Patient-Centered Service:Oversee the provision of daily nutritional and special dietary needs for patients visitors and catering events ensuring meals are not only nourishing but also contribute to a positive and healthy experience at Carrington Hospital.
- Customer & Staff Engagement:Actively solicit and manage feedback from patients staff and customers to continuously assess and enhance the level of service provided by the Nutrition Services team.
- Menu Innovation:Collaborate on the development and refinement of appetizing and balanced menus for patient meals cafeteria service and special event catering.
- Process Improvement:Proactively maintain and enhance established departmental operational systems and contribute to the development of new more efficient processes as a key member of the management team.
- Resource Optimization:Ensure adequate staffing levels for daily operational needs balancing efficiency with quality of care.
Job Requirements
- Completed High School or equivalent required.
- Minimum three (3) years progressive experience in food service.
- Associates Degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
- Servsafe Certification (SERVSAFE) to be obtained within 12 months of the start date required.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CD) required within 24 months.
