Job Summary

Heres What You Need

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma

BSN preferred

CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)

One-year year experience as a clinical nursing (RN) in an acute care setting required.

2-years experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred

2-years current Neonatal ICU/NICU experience strongly preferred

BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required

CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

The Charge Nurse
will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team
support and actively participate in shared governance/councils
committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.
evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift by offering staff guidance and support maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.

The Womens Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth a MAGNET and Texas 10-Step facility has been named Best Place to Have a Baby and Maternal Level IV designated facility

Work hours: PRN on an as needed basis 6:45AM-7:15PM with weekend and holiday coverage

Neonatal ICU/Level III NICU Department highlights:

As a regional referral center for high-risk deliveries Texas Health Fort Worth offers advanced services for complex and high-risk infants Over 600 NICU admissions per year

63-bed Level III Neonatal ICU/NICU: Utilize the following skills: Bubble CPAP Conventional Ventilator Oscillators and JETs (high-frequency)

Our Level III NICU is staffed 24 hours a day by neonatologists pediatric sub-specialists neonatal nurse practitioners and skilled registered nurses who are dedicated in providing experienced care to babies born with special health needs
