Basic Function: | Assist in the accounting function by preparing financial statements and other financial information; reconciling and balancing Kent State University accounts and various bank accounts; assist university personnel and independent auditors and assist with outside agencies. This is an entry level learning accounting position normally occupied by a recent college graduate. Reports to Senior Accountant. |

Examples of Duties: | Duties/essential functions may include but not be limited to the following: Reconcile and balance general ledger subsidiary accounts financial statements etc.; prepare journal entries; make adjustments to general ledger and subsidiary accounts as necessary. |

Minimum Qualifications: | Bachelors degree in Accounting Business or relevant field. License/Certification: Knowledge Of: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting practices Skill In: Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability To: Intermediate ability and knowledge of automated financial systems and personal computer applications: word processing spreadsheet database internet and email |

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: | Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally. |
