Summary:
The Structural Engineer creates designs and blueprints along with a team of other engineers and drafters using software and making modifications as needed to various projects that MPI/CCS may be engaged in.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates and designs blueprints for Ag and light commercial projects and/or
- Ensure building systems are functional reliable and safe and identify problems if any
- Participate in site visits
- Consulting with clients on building projects as needed
- Testing and evaluating building systems
- All other duties assigned
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED and/or Technical College
Bachelors or Associates Degree in Drafting Engineering or relevant field of study preferred
Experience:
0-1 years of experience in drafting engineering or relevant field in the construction industry.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Computer skills
- Strong working knowledge of CAD or engineering software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving and organizational skills including time management delegation prioritization and multitasking
- Work independently with little direction
- Work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
- Must be able to establish good working relationship with many individuals
Physical Requirements:
- Exposure to characteristic construction site danger if on job site
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift or move 20 pounds
