Job Description:

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) is a unique international program sponsored by the French Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

The VIE is a specific contract under Business Frances eligibility criteria.

VIE Main Requirements:

  • European Union citizens (plus Norway Iceland Liechtenstein and Monaco) graduates up to and including 28 years old (a V.I.E mission can begin no later than the day of the twenty-ninth birthday)
  • Have fulfilled military obligations for their country if any
  • Must be registered on the Mon Volontariat International website before the age of 28

A VIE for a Defence Marketing & Business Development Manager (f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Singapore. You will join the Digital Defence and Cyber activities in Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

You will have a unique opportunity to support the growth in the region for Defence Digital portfolio in the vibrant and evolving markets in the APAC region. The domains of interest for Defence Digital and Cyber in the region which will be the focus of this position are:

  • Air and Missile Defence
  • Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (real-time and non real-time ISR)
  • Multi Data Link communication translation and integration
  • Multi-domain operations
  • Combat Cloud and related technologies
  • Command and Control Solutions

You will be responsible for the Defence Digital and Cybermarketing and business development activities together with the local and global teams according to the customer needs in APAC.

Tasks & accountabilities:

Your main tasks will include:

  • Generate coordinate and disseminate market insights (business intelligence market research market analysis and forecasting) as per request and in close coordination with Sales Portfolio and Programme teams in the region and in Europe.
  • Support business development activities by customer interaction performing of solution presentations and demonstrations in dedicated sessions and exhibitions
  • Elaborate consolidate and monitor strategic and tactical marketing plans (customer segments and product) establishing a set of marketing objectives derived into initiatives to develop the market :
    • Preparation and follow-up of marketing plans
    • Coordination of Sales/Programme/Portfolio to define the content for exhibitions and events (products demos...)
    • Coordinate the provision of means and personnel for such demonstrations together with the marketing and the Programme teams.
    • Monitor RoI and impact of Marketing actions
    • Preparation of inputs (competition market analysis Strengths and weaknesses USPs...) and organisation of Go-To-Market workshops for the solutions to be promoted and sold in the local market
  • Support sales campaigns with technical and marketing arguments along the sales process
    • Preparation of content (key messages USPs...) for main campaigns
    • Participation to red teams (proof-reading synthesis elaboration) for main campaigns
    • Promotion of targeted products to support main campaigns during major events
  • Develop marketing concepts content and leverage digital tools as a background of promotional material adapted to the regional needs:
    • Define what to communicate and how
    • Provide content to operational Mktg and Digital Mktg stakeholders for the production of promotional materials and tools (website social media events and exhibitions print materials graphics videos press publications internal communications articles)
  • Develop manage and monitor the execution of marketing communication initiatives in coordination with the communication directorate or via external agencies.
  • Coordination of Defence marketing between APAC and the home countries (Germany France)

Required skills

  • Degree in Business International Relations or Marketing or comparable business qualification and/or Engineering with the relevant field
  • Experience and/or background in the military domain (service career experience) and understanding on the military operations
  • Successful experience in defence products/industry Marketing or Sales; and experience in digital technologies and services.
  • Understanding of the market in the APAC environment would be greatly appreciated.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Strong customer orientation and the ability to recognize market needs and to implement them in the offer definitions.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral (confident in Meetings and negotiations on all levels and presentations at conferences)
  • Excellent team skills and proven ability to succeed in a complex virtual environment.
  • Well organized structured rigorous and dynamic.
  • Creative and innovative able to develop new ideas to develop our positioning.
  • Interest in new and digital technologies and the ability to work in agile teams.
  • Fluent written and oral English is a must additional languages (German French and specifically any regional APAC language) would be a plus.
