An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Driver Training team under the direction of the Driver Training Manager and are inviting applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals for a permanent position.
This role requires someone who can work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment delivering a range of driving courses. You will work across multiple sites throughout the West Midlands delivering high-quality training to service personnel. A commitment to maintaining professional standards and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
deliver LGV Initial Driving Courses (Cat C licence acquisition to DVSA National Standards)
deliver ERD initial and requalification courses
LGV/Appliance familiarisation/assessment.
towing training (Category C1E to DVSA Standards)
specialist appliance training/assessment.
Essential skills or experience
must be a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI)
have experience of delivering training in Category C vehicles
must have a thorough knowledge of Roadcraft the Police Drivers Handbook the Highway Code Know your Signs Vehicle & Driver Licencing and relevant Road Traffic Regulations
the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Desirable skills or experience
preferably be fully qualified and licensed to drive vehicles in Categories C1E or CE D1 and D vehicles
preferably hold qualifications in specialist vehicles such as forklift or hook-lift
have driving qualifications such as IAM or RoSPA both of which would be beneficial
preferably have experience of emergency response driving in either or both Category B and C vehicles
to ensure maintenance of own competences
be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
be able to instruct others in driving a variety of vehicle types
experience in instructing individuals and groups also writing and producing training resources
