A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Manager Career Education and Coaching the Student Leadership and Skill Development Coordinator has a primary focus on facilitating the learning development and engagement of students and student leaders at Queens University. The incumbent provides expertise as part of a team of professional and student staff in the Student Experience and Career Development portfolio to design deliver and evaluate a broad range of educational interventions leadership and community engagement initiatives and specialized services that facilitate the personal social academic and professional success of students and student leaders.
Using current research and best practices the Coordinator is responsible for advising on and taking an active role in the creation development implementation and evaluation of programs and services related to student leadership involvement and community-engaged learning as well as programs and opportunities to support student learning and development in areas of critical thinking self-awareness civic engagement health and wellness career readiness and transferrable skill development that contribute to students future academic and professional pathways.
The Coordinator leads a campus-wide student leadership curriculum including the Leadership Skills Workshop Series a co-curricular certificate program and the semi-annual Leadership Summits. The role also provides centralized peer training coordination across multiple departments supports the integration of skill-building into student employment and academic settings and collaborates with campus partners on inclusive leadership initiatives. The Coordinator supervises student staff supports outcome-based assessment and manages event planning and resource development aligned with institutional goals related to student success equity and career readiness.
This position designs develops oversees delivers and evaluates academic resources including programs workshops training and services for students and stakeholders. This position oversees projects related to the development of experiential learning programs and professional development. This position evaluates and researches comparators and best practices in student development and experiential learning. This position also directs allocates and supervises the work of other staff.
The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work evenings and weekends.
