Job Summary

  • Actively engage and support families therapeutically
  • Full time fixed term contract based at the Loddon Care Hub in Bendigo
  • The Care Hub supports those entering care arrangements for the first time

Your role:

Leading therapeutic practice at the Care Hub based in Bendigo. The Therapeutic Specialist primarily assists the team providing assessment and support to children young people and their families providing family therapy interventions and training for clinical staff working with children and young people experiencing impacts of trauma.

Positions objectives:

  • To promote ability of children and young people to recover from the effects of abuse family violence trauma and loss.
  • To resource Care Hub staff and others to provide nurturing therapeutic reparative care for children and young people who present with complex needs and challenging behaviours using a trauma framework.

  • Experience developing intervention plans and mentoring and coaching staff in therapeutic responses
  • Experience with trauma/mental health of children and young people
  • Experience facilitating reflective practice and clinical supervisions for staff
  • Experience providing secondary consults and training for clinical staff working with children and young people experiencing impacts of trauma

Qualifications:

A relevant degree in Social Work Psychology Family Therapy Occupational Therapy or a related degree in Behavioural Sciences.

As a Therapeutic Specialist at AV youll receive:

  • SCHCADS level 8.3 which equates to $134288 ($67.96 per hour) plus super at 12% at full time.
