Job Summary

The University of Chicagos Adult Epilepsy Center in the Department of Neurology is seeking board certified/board eligible academic epileptologists to join its faculty as the Neuroscience program continues to expand. Appointees will participate in activities of the Adult Epilepsy Center which include an inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit intraoperative monitoring and outpatient and inpatient EEG. Other duties include teaching of fellows residents and medical students and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible. Appointees will join the Centers existing group of epileptologists neurosurgeons and neuroscientists at University of Chicago Medicine which includes a growing neurosciences service line with the opportunity to practice at locations both on and outside of our main campus in Hyde Park.

Prior to the start of employment qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent 2) have completed a residency program in neurology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education 3) be fellowship trained in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology includingadvanced EEG monitoring and surgical evaluation 4) be board certified or eligible in neurology and 5) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.
