Job Description

At Manulife / John Hancock we are seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Product Owner to partner with our Omni-channel Platform team driving the development and delivery of key capabilities that enhance our communications experience. This role will influence priorities and ensure alignment with business objectives while collaborating closely with the platform team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a deep understanding of customer-centric product this role you will be responsible for communicating effectively with business stakeholders gathering business requirements and translating them into actionable technical stories for the development team.

As the Technical Product Owner you will ensure that the squad adheres to agile practices including conducting regular ceremonies such as sprint planning reviews and retrospectives. You will also be responsible for planning the technical roadmap prioritizing features and ensuring that delivery is on track to meet business objectives. Your leadership will be crucial in driving innovation and maintaining a seamless communication experience for our customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Omni-channel communications platform team to deliver a seamless and efficient communication process for our customers.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and prioritize requirements ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Monitors and generates reports on product KPIs.

  • Utilize data and customer feedback to continuously improve the digital communication experience.

  • Manage the technology product backlog define user stories and set sprint goals.

  • Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the development team ensuring clear communication and understanding of product vision and goals.

  • Monitor and report on product performance making data-driven decisions to enhance the customer experience.

  • Monitor system performance identify optimization opportunities and ensure seamless operation.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for business and technical processes.

  • Lead the development and execution of a long-term platform strategy aligned with technology architectural and business goals.

  • Brings an innovative mindset to improving and elevating technology solutions and enablers

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5 years of experience in a project management technical product owner platform owner engineer or similar role

  • Strong understanding of life insurance industry workflows and processes particularly relevant to the products being used

  • Excellent communication collaboration negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to translate business needs into effective solutions

  • Experience with program and agile delivery methodologies

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with project tracking software (e.g. Jira)

  • Experience with Azure AKS on Azure

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure)

  • Experience with DevOps principles and tools

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

Salary range is expected to be between

$87990.00 USD - $163410.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
