Job Summary

North Watford PCN are looking to recruit a LARC nurse to join their busy team ideally to work 4 hours per week with some flexibility considered.

Job responsibilities will include:

Deliver LARC services - contraceptive implants intrauterine device (IUD) and intrauterine system (IUS) insertions or removals in line with national and local guidance
Ensure that a specified and clinically appropriate contraceptive procedure is conducted safely
Provide a professional client facing service
Provide appropriate advice and information to patients and refer or signpost on where necessary
Input clinical data onto the clinical system

About the Candidate

To be considered for this position you will need the following;

Essential:

Current UK professional registration
Diploma of the Fault of Sexual andReproductive Healthcare (DFSRH)
Subscription to relevantprofessional bodies
A valid letter of competence in intrauterine techniques (LoC IUT) and in subdermal implants (LoC SDI) Evidence of re-certification
Royal College of Nursing (RCN) equivalent accredited training
Complete a minimum of 2 hours CPD per year
Recent experience of fitting aminimum of 12 IUD/S a yearincluding at least 2 different typesand/ or 6 implant fittingprocedures per year
Knowledge of primary health care
Knowledge and experience ofworking with young people andvulnerable groups including training
Good interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise workload
Ability to maintain confidentiality
