The Director Data Enablement and Analytics has day-to-day oversight over Data Enablement and Analytics for Keck Medicine of USC. This position is responsible for ensuring that data is not only well-governed and secure but also accessible understandable and actionable across the organization. The incumbent will champion enterprise-wide data governance drive data literacy initiatives and empower teams to make smarter data-informed decisions. The position works with the PMO to set priorities for the Data Enablement and Analytics department helping to set expectations meet timelines and meet deliverables. The Director Data Enablement and Analytics will lead a team that supports Tableau Power BI develops reports and dashboard for enterprise when service line analytic teams are not available. Trains departments on self-service analytics. Leads data stewardship owns data catalog data quality and drives across units in system (i.e. clinical finance etc.). Adept at managing relationships collaborating and influencing across a variety of organizational functions. The Director Data Enablement and Analytics effectively communicates at various levels of the organization communicating technical information to non-technical audiences in addition to making presentations in front of large groups both internal and external to Keck.
Essential Duties:
- Strategic Departmental Leadership: Define and execute a data enablement roadmap aligned with business priorities and digital transformation goals. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership translating data strategy into business impact. Lead a team of data governance analysts data literacy specialists and enablement professionals. Monitor and report on key metrics related to data adoption literacy and governance maturity.
- Data Literacy & Enablement Design and launch a data literacy program to elevate data fluency across all levels of the organization. Partner with HR to embed data education into onboarding training and leadership development. Create toolkits dashboards and self-service resources that democratize access to data. Foster a culture of curiosity experimentation and responsible data use.
- Data Governance: Oversee data quality metadata management data lineage and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. HIPAA GDPR CCPA). Support Data Governance leadership including facilitating cross-functional alignment and accountability. Collaborate with IT Legal Security and business units to ensure consistent data stewardship and risk mitigation. Provide strategic oversight and sponsorship in the creation of a data governance framework and applicable policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership Responsibilities: Lead mentor and develop a high-performing team of data professionals including data governance analysts data literacy specialists and enablement leads. Set clear goals priorities and performance expectations aligned with organizational strategy and data initiatives. Foster a collaborative inclusive and growth-oriented team culture that encourages innovation and continuous learning. Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to build domain expertise and leadership capabilities within the team. Allocate resources effectively across projects balancing strategic initiatives with operational needs. Champion cross-functional collaboration ensuring the team works seamlessly with IT analytics compliance and business units. Conduct regular team check-ins performance reviews and feedback sessions to ensure alignment and accountability. Advocate for the teams needs and successes at the executive level securing support and visibility for data enablement efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Req Bachelors Degree Degree in computer science Healthcare Business or related field.
- Req 8-10 years Experience in a Healthcare setting
- Req 5 years Experience supervising personnel
- Req 5 years Experience building new Analytics and Data Products. Experience with the System Development Lifecycle and Software Development methodologig
- Req Leading technical and functional teams
- Req Proven success in building and scaling data literacy initiatives.
- Req Excellent analytical problem-solving planning and evaluation skills.
- Req Demonstrates ability to utilize effective appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

The annual base salary range for this position is $145600.00 - $240240.00.
