SPANISH TEACHER
REPORTS TO: Junior-Senior High School Administration
PAY TYPE: Contract Non-Supervisory
PAY RATE: Based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract (see attachment)
BENEFITS: Eligible (see attachment)
SCHEDULE: 183 Days; Follows school calendar

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan coordinate and teach the instructional program according to the adopted curriculum
Deliver engaging and effective Spanish instruction
Support language acquisition cultural understanding and communication skills in students
Communicate regularly with families and school staff regarding student progress

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education Training and Experience Required:
- Bachelors Degree
- Valid Indiana Secondary Teachers License in Spanish (grades 7-12) or pending licensure
- Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
- Experience working in a school environment preferred
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
- Strong knowledge of Spanish language culture and instructional best practices
- Displays positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to work as a team with other staff
- Ability to effectively instruct a diverse student population
- Experience with technology-based and blended instruction
- Displays dependability and punctuality
- Preferred willingness to sponsor an extracurricular group/team

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position works indoors in a typical school classroom environment
May work near others often within a few feet
May occasionally be exposed to noise levels that are distracting
