THE ROLE

Due to continued growth were looking to recruit a Fullstack Wordpress Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for building and delivering websites based on WordPress that are able to translate our company and customer needs into functional and appealing interactive experiences.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Improving existing features and building new features for our websites.

• Researching new approaches on how to make products better faster and more secure.

• Providing technical feasibility and time estimations for tasks.

• Ensuring correct code implementation with quality stability and readability in mind.

• Passing on knowledge and dedicating time to mentoring other colleagues. Making the onboarding process better and seamless.

• Being a leading role model and coach for your peers never stop learning and always strive for improvement.

• Taking full ownership and responsibilities over products during the evolution of the products themselves or specific parts/features.

• Approaching the technical side of the project with a long-term vision.

• Improving or maintaining technical skills on a higher level seeing the bigger picture and trying to architect good solutions for new features or finding problems in the projects.

• Complying while taking part in defining developing and governing existing and required processes.

• Being able to have calm logical and level-headed discussions in a respectful manner with your colleagues.

Requirements:

• 3 years of development experience with WordPress.

• Good understanding of Frontend technologies including HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript and jQuery.

• Knowledge of frameworks like React etc.. is considered a plus.

• Experience interacting with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON XML).

• Experience working with headless wordpress implementations is considered a bonus.

• Experience with Kubernetes/ Argo CD is considered a bonus.

• Familiarity with how WordPress works under the hood including MySQL integration hooks and template hierarchy.

• Good understanding of UX / UI principles to convert designs into responsive websites that look great on mobile phones. Experience with Figma would be a plus.

• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and a collaborative attitude. We prioritize teamwork over personal outcomes.

• Experience with SEO and Page Speed Optimization techniques.

• Responsibility and taking ownership is your second nature. You are not afraid of being responsible for features making technical decisions and in case something goes wrong - fixing it.

• Experience in working on advanced implementations of WordPress from templating to plugin development.

• Ability to follow coding standards and coding principles such as KISS YAGNI or SOLID.

• Knowledge of PHP 7

• Knowledge of essential tools such as GIT SSH NPM/Yarn Webpack JIRA.
  

Optional:

• Experience with the Backend QA and DevOps technologies.

• Enjoying innovating.

• Enjoying looking under the hood of the dependencies and getting your hands dirty to identify how code works.
