Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) for a 13-week travel contract in Utica NY. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in emergency care including pediatric patients and be comfortable working in a fast-paced high-acuity environment. The RN will work evening shifts and is expected to float to similar units as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Department including adults and pediatrics.
- Triage patients according to acuity and department protocols.
- Administer medications monitor vital signs and assist in procedures.
- Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians specialists and other nurses to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
- Respond to medical emergencies using appropriate interventions and protocols.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies procedures and nursing standards.
- Be willing and able to float to other units as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience including some pediatric exposure.
- Prior travel nursing experience.
- Active New York RN License (required).
- Current certifications (AHA):
- ACLS BLS PALS NIHSS & TNCC
- Proficiency in EPIC EMR system (required).
- Strong clinical skills adaptability and excellent communication.
