MOTOR Ai is a Berlin-based deep-tech startup transforming the way autonomous driving works.
Were not just building smarter vehicles were developing one of the first certifiable Level 4 autonomy systems in Europe grounded in cognitive neuroscience and capable of navigating real-world complex traffic scenarios.
Our technology doesnt just recognize it reasons. That means safer faster and more adaptable autonomy especially in environments where traditional AI struggles.
Join our diverse and fast-growing team of engineers scientists and visionaries as we shape the future of mobility. At MOTOR Ai your work will have real impact and your ideas will help drive autonomous driving into the next era.
As part of this mission youll take ownership of the end-to-end development of our autonomous sensor system from selecting and integrating cutting-edge sensors to handling physical installation (cabling power and networking) configuring data pipelines (Linux ROS drivers transport layers) and driving data analysis.
Youll work at the intersection of hardware and software playing a key role in building the sensor backbone of a truly intelligent self-driving system.
Tasks
- Develop low-level sensor synchronisation and calibration solutions.
- Develop synchronisation and calibration features tailored to autonomous vehicle use cases.
- Implement/Debug sensor drivers and TCP UDP RTS and other communication protocols.
- Perform hardware/software integration and vehicle parametrization.
- Participate in software architectural design and implementation.
- Perform in-vehicle tests.
- Contribute to creating and refining software development processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design sensor requirements.
- Support the installation of electrical and electronic equipment in vehicles.
- Assist electrical and mechanical engineers in their work.
- Document all development and implementation processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Engineering Automotive Industrial Automation Electrical Mechatronics or Robotics (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in embedded Linux software development.
- Proficiency in C C Python Shell script.
- Knowledge of network and communication systems.
- Ability to comprehend microprocessors microcontrollers complex electrical systems architectures.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Willingness to travel when required.
- A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
Good to have:
- Time Synchronization (PTP/GPTP latency and timestamp trigger) of a broad ecosystem of diverse multi-vendor sensors (camera lidar radar gps etc)
- Knowledge of sensors basics and applications
- Safety critical RTOS (QNX Vxworks)
- ROS Docker DevContainer
- Field testing experience with complex systems (autonomous platforms robotics or motorsport projects)
- Enthusiasm for autonomous driving technology and a strong technology interest
- Familiarity with agile development methods
- Knowledge of ISO26262 and safe design approaches
Benefits
- Competitive compensation
- Flexible working hours with room for lifes realities (parenting care responsibilities volunteering etc.)
- Dog-friendly office yes your furry co-worker is welcome
- Work from our office in Berlins vibrant Wedding district
- Cutting-edge tech & real-world impact shape the future of autonomous driving with purpose-driven work
- Collaborative diverse and supportive culture where your ideas matter and your voice is heard
- Room to grow both professionally and personally in a team committed to bold innovation and lifelong learning
