Job Description

Job Title: Physician Sleep Medicine

Location: Evans Army Hospital at Fort Carson 1650 Cochrane Cir CO 80913

Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8-hour shifts betweenexcluding federal holidays

Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.

  • Experience: Minimum of 12 months within the last 36 months of current independent clinical experience in sleep medicine. Must demonstrate competency to work independently in a sleep medicine practice.

  • License/Certification:

    • Current full active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. jurisdiction.

    • Board eligible or board certified in Sleep Medicine (ABMS or AOA recognized).

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • Other Requirements:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

    • Strong background in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders including apnea narcolepsy insomnia restless leg syndrome and parasomnias.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation diagnosis and management of patients with sleep disorders.

  • Interpret and review polysomnographic studies and other sleep-related diagnostic tests.

  • Develop document and manage individualized treatment plans for patients with chronic and acute sleep conditions.

  • Prescribe and monitor therapies such as CPAP/PAP devices medications and behavioral interventions.

  • Collaborate with polysomnographic technicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate testing and continuity of care.

  • Educate patients and families in sleep hygiene treatment compliance and disorder management.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (GENESIS).

  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings case reviews and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with DHA DoD and professional medical standards.

  • Provide consultative expertise to other departments regarding sleep medicine cases.
