Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a collaborative member of the healthcare team
- Prepare patients for provider visits; collect and document vital signs and health history
- Administer medications via oral subcutaneous or intramuscular routes and document accordingly
- Perform phlebotomy and ensure proper lab documentation and follow-up
- Assist providers during procedures and act as a chaperone when needed
- Support patient follow-up for routine lab results
- Maintain clean safe and well-stocked exam rooms and storage areas
- Sterilize instruments and prepare procedure packs daily
- Participate actively in staff meetings and team initiatives
- Assist with special clinics (e.g. Well Child BP screening Immunizations)
- Pursue continuing education for professional development
- Accurately complete and sign all required documentation
- Adhere to scope of practice and licensure requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned including potential reassignment to different ACHS sites

Experience & Education Requirements
- 1 2 years of direct clinical experience
- Graduation from an accredited CMA program
Certificates & License Requirements
- Active CMA license on file with the State of New Hampshire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Work Environment
Operates in a professional clinical setting
Frequent interaction with patients and staff
Uses standard clinical tools (e.g. stethoscope BP meters autoclave syringes glucometers)
Uses standard office equipment (e.g. computer phone copier scanner fax)
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to see talk hear and speak
- Frequent walking standing and equipment handling
- Manual dexterity for clinical procedures
- Ability to lift 20 25 pounds routinely; up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Required to sit stoop kneel or crouch
- Vision requirements include close distance peripheral and focus adjustment
Requirements
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/CCMA/RMA)
- Interviews patients measures vital signs such as pulse rate temperature blood pressure weight height and records information in patients EMR.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
- Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed.
- Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
- Performs venipunctures routine lab tests injections and ear lavage etc.
- Depending on site placement may be responsible for scheduling appointments keeping x-ray and other medical records performing secretarial tasks and completing insurance forms.
- May have to perform tele-triage in the collection of information to be relayed to providers demonstrating knowledge of computer triage template and its use.
- Demonstrates appropriate judgment in management of patient questions and/or complaints.
- Must have insurance knowledge re: referrals and pre-authorizations.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
- Attends and participates in staff/team meetings.
Perform any additional duties as assigned.
