Technician Machinist-Engineering
Position Overview:
Were seeking a skilled and energetic machinist to support engineering development testing and support projects. This role will work cross-functionally across the engineering organization to help design build and machine cutting edge Polaris parts and products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Builds prototype parts test fixtures and/or complete machines per prints sketches or verbal instructions.
- Experience with machining equipment programming setup and operation.
- Ability to operate the following equipment: Band Saws Drill Presses High Tonnage Presses Grinders Manual Mills Manual Lathes
- Experience in Mastercam for Post processing / machining work
- Experience in Solidworks PROE or other solid modeling software
- Engineering print reading ability
- Knowledge of prototype build processes and suggests new processes and additional equipment to be used.
- Makes recommendations on design or redesign for product improvements or cost reductions.
- Meet required project timelines and deadlines
- Must be a self-starter and complete multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Interact and provide support to engineering customers for development work and projects
Education and Experience
- High school diploma plus two years vocational school training in the fabrication / machining trade
- 1-3 years previous fabrication experience is required
- Manual machining ability is required
The starting pay range for Minnesota is $25.00-$29.00 per hour plus eligibility for pay and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
To qualify for this position former employees must be eligible for rehire and current employees must be in good standing.
