What Youll Do:
- Collect abstract and maintain comprehensive cancer data in compliance with state national and institutional standards.
- Review pathology cytology autopsy radiation therapy and diagnostic reports for case-finding and treatment documentation.
- Translate medical terminology into standardized codes for diagnosis and treatment.
- Ensure accuracy completeness and quality of data for all cancer patients treated at Loyola University Medical Center.
- Maintain compliance with Commission on Cancer standards (6.16.5) to support Loyolas accreditation.
- Average 46 case abstractions per day depending on complexity.
What Youll Need:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C) or ability to obtain within 30 months of employment
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding standards
- Experience with cancer registry software and reporting systems preferred

Compensation:
Pay Range: $23.18 - $35.92 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience qualifications education location licensure certification requirements and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
