HUMAN RESOURCES TEAM LEADER Full Time/Exempt/Salaried REPORTS TO:EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
PURPOSE: The HR Manager is a key leader in shaping both the people and organizational health of Christian Life Center. This role combines traditional HR management with organizational change/design to ensure staff are well-supported ministry systems are aligned and transitions are navigated smoothly. The HR Manager oversees core HR functions (talent management compensation benefits and employee relations) while also guiding organizational design technology evaluation and change management efforts. Through this dual focus on people and systems the HR Manager advances the churchs mission to Know God Be His People Value Others and Change Our World.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: The HR Manager reports to the Executive Director/Business Manager and collaborates across all ministry areas to support organizational health. This role requires building trust with staff partnering with leaders on HR and change initiatives and helping guide the culture in alignment with Christian Life Centers value. Loyalty discretion and the ability to support the vision of the Lead Pastor / church leadership are essential.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle consistent with CLCs mission and values.
- Active participation in worship services and ministry engagement is expected.
- 5 years of HR management or generalist experience preferably in a non-profit or ministry environment.
- Bachelors degree required; SHRM certification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in organizational design and/or change management.
- Familiarity with HR compliance requirements and employment law.
- Strong communication coaching and facilitation skills.
- Ability to evaluate and implement technology tools for HR and project management (e.g. Basecamp).
- Strategic/analytical thinker systems-oriented adaptable and able to lead staff through transitions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Human Resources Leadership - Provide oversight guidance and support for all talent management programs (e.g. recruitment onboarding performance management training/development and employee engagement).
- Administer compensation and benefits programs with attention to equity stewardship and competitiveness.
- Ensure staff policies and procedures are in compliance with applicable employment laws communicated clearly and consistently applied.
- Lead HR programs encompassing employee relations conflict resolution and relationship management.
- Provide input into the annual budget for HR and organizational development.
- Track analyze and report HR organizational metrics (e.g. retention engagement performance reviews)
- Partner with the Executive Director to align staff culture with CLCs values to achieve ministry goals.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Pastor or the Executive Director / Business Manager.
Organizational Design & Development - Assess and recommend organizational structures that support clarity efficiency and ministry alignment.
- Collaborate with leaders to design roles teams and workflows that advance the churchs mission.
- Promote systems thinking ensuring staff roles and structures integrate effectively across ministries.
- Train and support staff in the use of project management tools to strengthen collaboration.
Change Management - Lead change management initiatives to help staff and leaders navigate cultural process and systems transitions.
- Develop and implement change management strategies including communication plans training and staff support.
- Identify and address areas of resistance building buy-in and adoption across the organization.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of change initiatives and develop/implement sustainable solutions as needed.
