The Projects Coordinator assists with state-based coordination services evaluation and training to enhance Vermonts treatment dockets. This position involves administrative project development and technical responsibilities and may include: identifying system needs and/or problems; identifying impacts on the Judiciary of proposed strategies programs and activities recommending outcomes to be achieved to fulfill the grants goals or strategic planning objectives analyzing potential solutions; developing and implementing action plans; recommending and coordinating training; and work on dockets programs systems and/or projects as assigned. This position reports to the Treatment Court Programs Manager directly and the Chief of Planning and Court Services. Under direction of the Judiciarys Division of Planning and Court Services work is performed with some latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and evaluative thinking.
Theideal candidate will bring strong organizational and interpersonal skills and professional experience in a legal or social services setting. It is essential that this individual maintains cooperative customer service-oriented relationships with treatment providers judicial officers and judicial branch staff representatives from other branches of government and various public and private groups.
This is a full-time limited-service position that will be based in Burlington Vermont. Regular travel to each of the treatment court locations is a requirement for this role. Starting salary is $27.50 per hour. The limited-service role is funded through the BJA grant with projected funding through September 2028. Continued employment after that date will be dependent upon further funding.This is a Judicial Branch position equivalent to pay grade 23. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in public administration business administration public health/substance abuse criminal justice behavioral science social work psychology; or related bachelors degree.
Experience: Two or more years of experience in a public private or non-profit setting withdirect responsibility for action planning process improvement program operations and grants management.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in systems and program development grant management and a working knowledge of program and services of the Vermont Judicial Branch and the Agency of Human Services particularly related to the criminal justice system substance abuse and mental health disorders.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain effective working relationships at multiple levels of the organization and among diverse public and private stakeholders.
- Ability to be innovative and self-motivated and sustain a high level of accomplishment.
- Working knowledge of the interface between substance abuse issues mental health issues and the justice system.
- Working knowledge of evidence-based practices and treatment best practices standards to allow effective quality assurance of program deliverables.
- Working knowledge of grant administration and compliance monitoring.
- Working knowledge of computer technology and software applications including applications relating to data collection and program. management and grant administration.
Summary of Duties
- Coordinate and implement grant-funded projects and programs.
- Oversee maintenance of statewide treatment docket management information data system.
- Manage grant goals objectives and timelines.
- Support creation of ongoing statewide program evaluations.
- Coordinate grant related trainings.
- Develop and oversee grants related contracts and services.
- Coordinate budget and invoice processing.
- Provide required grant related reporting at intervals specified in grant awards. Ability to identify system needs and/or problems analyze potential solutions and develop and implement actions plans.
- Regular travel to each of the treatment court locations is a requirement for this role.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
This position will be eligible for longevity increases in accordance with the State step pay plan and annual cost of living increases as enacted by the Vermont State Legislature.
