Currently seeking an Accountant II for a solid company in Fort Wayne Indiana. You will assist the Finance Reporting team with financial records transaction processing ledger verification and management reporting. Research and communicate information on investment reinsurance asset management claims and premium reporting.
Accountant II Responsibilities:
Record investment transactions reconcile custody statements and prepare investment reports
Research and resolve data issues related to claims premiums and billing; collaborate with IT on corrections
Balance monthly financial statements to corporate ledger and resolve inconsistencies
Apply statutory accounting principles; upload quarterly/annual financial results to reporting software and dashboards
Upload monthly balances to budgeting system; create and distribute budget reports; analyze variances
Process affiliate reimbursements and chargebacks with proper authorization and documentation
Manage prepaid expenses including re-classes amortization entries and reconciliations
Prepare and file tax payments premium tax returns and sales/use tax statements
Review invoices for proper accounting authorization and sales tax compliance
Reconcile bank claims and investment statements; process reinsurance transactions as needed
Support billing accounts receivable and premium payment issue resolution
Accountant II Requirements:
Must have Bachelors degree in accounting finance or business administration with 2-year accounting emphasis
2-3 years general business insurance or related experience
Strong Excel and analytical skills; detail-oriented with excellent communication
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is desired.
Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and/or Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF) designation is desired.
