Major Responsibilities
-Under the direction of borough operations management with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment manage the boroughs fleet and small equipment.
-Coordinate with Parks Fleet and borough staff on vehicle assignments acquisitions salvage fuel E-Z pass usage.
-Work with Parks Fleet and outside contractors on motor vehicle/preventive maintenance inspections (MVIs/PMIs) vehicle maintenance and repairs warranty issues recalls and other issues.
-Track out-of-service fleet and assess impact on borough operations. Utilize M5 and Geotab applications to generate regular reports for senior management; prepare and analyze fleet data create presentations for borough management meetings.
-Monitor and prioritize preparation of seasonal equipment including beach and grass cutting tractors mowers plows and salt spreaders.
-Enforce and track borough compliance with Agency rules regulations standards of conduct and vehicle operating procedures including defensive driving vehicle accident reporting and violations.
-Serve as a liaison between the borough and DCAS Citywide Fleet and promote Vision Zero initiatives including vehicle tracking safety programs and emission reduction technologies. Assist borough staff with vehicle sharing program Fleetster.
-Work with Chief/Deputy Chiefs to develop yearly budget plans and research for fleet acquisitions and small equipment purchases.
-Track inventory and small equipment in the field working closely with small equipment maintenance team to track repairs and salvage.
-Coordinate borough fleet and small equipment operator training initiatives.
-Identify and communicate emerging issues to the Borough Chief and Deputy Chiefs of Operations and assist with projects.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
