Job Summary
Manages multiple small and medium technology related initiatives projects and programs across multiple departments from initiation to implementation. Develops and maintains project plans schedules status reports project risks and other project-related artifacts utilizing organizational best practices.
Essential Functions
the definition of service levels and customer requirements. Interact regularly with existing or potential stakeholders to determine their needs and to develop requirements documentation and cost benefit analyses.
planning and/or implementation of projects by working with leadership and seniors project team to develop realistic projects goals.
regular project status reviews with project sponsors and stakeholders to provide project accomplishments issues and schedule.
Senior Project Management staff in promoting best practices in areas such as Change Management Risk Management Scope Management Communications Escalation Project Resource Management and Cost Management are being used in managing projects.
with departments throughout DCPS to resolve escalated project issues.
with Functional Management to monitor and maintain project teams visibility on day-to-day activities to ensure current resources capacity
Senior Project Management staff to facilitate the sharing project Management techniques and guidance across the organization.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university preferred or equivalent work experience.
Experience: One (1) year of project management experience. Experience in government entity or public school preferred.
Certifications & Licenses: Relevant project management certification preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Project Management processes and methodologies
- Strong Oral written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong word processing spreadsheet and project management software skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to perform analysis provide requested reporting and document support issues
- Ability to discuss technology information with users discern their needs and identify solutions
- Ability to communicate technology information to non-technical users when working with programs and projects
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to coordinate team activities
