Are you looking for an exciting student opportunity full of meaningful diverse and challenging assignments working alongside industry leading professionalsYou will be part of a driven and collaborative team completing important projects while receiving the mentorship knowledge and experience to develop the skills you need to build an exciting career.

As a student in the Conventional Asset Development team you will contribute to building and maintaining economic models that support strategic decision-making across a diverse portfolio of assets. Your work will involve evaluating development scenarios optimizing capital allocation and assessing risk-return trade-offs while also supporting engineering tasks. Youll also play a key role in preparing clear insightful analysis and recommendations.

What youll do

  • Build and maintain economic models to evaluate scenarios run sensitivities and quantify trade-offs

  • Perform portfolio analysis to prioritize opportunities optimize capital and assess risk/return

  • Complete discrete development economics for new and brownfield opportunities

  • Lead efforts to formalize guidance and governance for Asset Model and Portfolio updates

  • Assist with development engineering tasks focused on asset area optimization

  • Prepare clear analysis presentations and decision materials summarizing economics risks and recommendations

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canadafull-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g. work visa)

  • Available to begin work in January 2026

  • Results oriented with strong ownership

  • Critical thinking and data literacy

  • Collaboration and clear communication

  • Integrity accountability and continuous improvement

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint & Word)

  • Skills with Enersight QPortfolio Accupamp and/or Spotfire would be an asset

Education

  • Must be enrolled in a Mechanical / Chemical / Petroleum Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work termOR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term

  • Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered

  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.

  • Background in Business / Economics would be an asset

Working Conditions

  • May include frequency of travel sitting standing computer work lifting driving working at site etc.
