Our Landing Systems Business Unit headquartered in Troy Ohio designs tests and manufactures a wide range of fully integrated landing systems. Our innovative solutions include lighter-weight high-strength materials; more electric technologies; DURACARB carbon friction material; EDL extended life configurations; and innovative aircraft gear wheel and brake design.

We have an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer Co-op at our Troy location.

This position is full-time Monday-Friday and will run January to August; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past August 2026.

What You Will Do:

  • Assure processes including equipment fixture design routings programming tooling and standard work in support of the following processes: Assembly Processes for Aircraft Brakes and Wheels Machining Anodize Chemical Etch Aluminum Conversion Coating Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection Waste Water Treatment and Shot Peen.
  • Continuously improve quality and productivity using the CORE Operating System for products and processes including compliance to these processes.
  • Identify and implement cost savings as related to direct and indirect labor savings and expense account budgets.
  • Ability to lead activities related to compliance audits including AS9100 NADCAP etc.
  • Provide technical support for serving as liaison between Value Streams Quality Assurance EH&S and Design Engineering.

  • Application of manufacturing engineering principles in a real-world production environment.
  • Hands-on learning in equipment troubleshooting process validation and operations support.
  • Exposure to lean and Six Sigma tools such as value stream mapping 5S and root cause analysis.
  • Professional development in communication teamwork and leadership within a corporate setting.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelors or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Exposure to data analysis software/tools (e.g. Minitab SQL Python Power BI).

The salary range for this role is 37000 USD - 82000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
