About the Role

As a Managing Associate in the Employment team youll work across a diverse range of clients and sectors handling complex employment law matters with a strategic and commercial approach.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive employment law and HR support across various business sectors including:
    • Financial services
    • Retail and consumer
    • Energy
    • Transport
    • Other key industry sectors
  • Managing both contentious and non-contentious employment matters such as:
    • Complex tribunal litigation
    • Whistleblowing and business protection issues
    • Major restructuring and outsourcing projects
    • HR advisory work
    • Employment contract and policy drafting
  • Developing and maintaining close client relationships
  • Collaborating with colleagues across practice areas and industry groups
  • Contributing to business development efforts
  • Exploring innovative tools like AI to enhance service delivery
  • Mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues
  • Engaging in continuous professional development
  • Thinking strategically about client needs and service improvement

What Were Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in employment law
  • Strong experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality legal advice
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Keen eye for detail and self-motivated approach
  • Enthusiasm for professional growth and development

Desirable:

  • Experience across multiple industry sectors
  • Track record of business development
  • Understanding of emerging technologies in legal practice
  • Experience with AI and innovative legal service tools
